Do it right now.” We mash, distill, age, and bottle every drop of our Straight Bourbons and Straight Rye Whiskey on our farm, nestled in the foothills of the Ragged Mountains in Virginia. Not only do we grow, harvest, and mill the grains used to make our whiskey, but we also feed the spent mash to our Black Angus cattle.

We don’t cut corners. What’s right is never sacrificed for what’s easy. That’s the way a farm should work, and that’s the way Ragged Branch works. The whiskey you now hold is the result: Born on a farm, and we’d be honored if you joined us in raising it in a glass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0661/3250/8905/files/ragged-branch-wheated-bourbon-bottled-in-bond-849954.jpg?v=1707647720
ragged-branch-cowboy-cut-virginia-straight-bourbon
Ragged Branch Cowboy Cut Virginia Straight Bourbon

As a farm-to-bottle distillery, we grow, harvest, and mill grain to produce our spirit on site and feed the residual mash to our cattle.

For three generations, the Toomy family has raised cattle, and our Co-Founder and Head Distiller, Alex Toomy, believes there’s no better way to work cattle than on horseback. As a cattleman, he wanted to hand-select a spirit that represents his passion and the cowboys and cattlemen of this country are some of the hardest-working individuals in the world. They put beef on the plates of people thousands of miles away and rarely get credit for the hard work they put in. At Ragged Branch, we decided to honor the labor and dedication that these fine men and women put in day after day by hand-selecting a barrel.

This whiskey wouldn’t be fit for a calloused cowboy if it wasn’t left intact and undiluted at Barrel Proof.
