And like poet Robert Frost “I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference”. In 2012, I built a distillery in Kentucky to craft bourbon with a “difference” by incorporating all the qualities I could imagine. I used locally grown corn, wheat, and rye to capture the terrior of Kentucky and a copper pot still to give a powerful aroma with lots of bourbon flavor. I barreled the product at 110 proof for better wood and flavor extraction. And now I am ready to share that “difference” with my friends.

Enjoy my multigrain, pot distilled, estate-grown, and very Straight Kentucky Bourbon.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0661/3250/8905/files/whiskey-row-bottled-in-bond-bourbon-648781.jpg?v=1707622251
whiskey-row-shippingport-bourbon
Whiskey Row Shippingport Bourbon

Shippingport Bourbon Whiskey is a blend of small-batch barrels, like many of those early recipes, to enjoy the same flavor that our ancestors enjoyed during the foundation of our nation. All distilleries have their propriety yeast and grain recipes. While rye is usually the dominant secondary grain, sometimes wheat is more prevalent. Along the riverbank in Louisville, there is a stretch of iron-clad warehouses known collectively as “Whiskey Row” where bourbon has been distilled and blended since the late 18th Century. The early settlers discovered that corn would grow in abundance in the rich deep soil along the river. And settlers from Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland also discovered that yellow corn made smooth-tasting whiskey. Whereas most of today’s bourbon whiskies have a recipe using around 70% corn, 20% rye or 20% wheat, and 10% malted barley, the newly arrived settlers and bourbon distillers used only corn. Our “Whiskey Row” Eighteenth-Century Straight Corn Bourbon recipe follows that early tradition. You will love the sweet and crisp flavors distilled from Ohio Valley corn mellowed with the essence of vanilla and caramel naturally extracted from new charred oak barrels.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0661/3250/8905/files/whiskey-row-straight-bourbon-648338.jpg?v=1707645564
